As a teenager, it was very hard for me to communicate verbally with people. I always felt like everything I said was either stupid or didn't make sense, let my mother tell it. So, I began to write everything. I always kept a journal to write down my thoughts and how I was feeling and how others made me feel when I was growing up. I wrote poems and short stories and I would save them onto a floppy disk (I know. Old, right?) so that I could have them for the future. I tried to hold onto them for the longest and I did but can't seem to get the disk to work. But, anyway, since I held all of my feelings inside, it propelled me to write it out, transfer the energy onto paper just to get it out of my head. I continued writing and journaling all the way into adulthood because I could never really open up to express myself well into my 30s. I always wanted to write a book and I said that one day I would. Fast forward to Facebook and Instagram, I was able to begin writing random quotes and posting them on my IG page and FaceBook, and one day it came to me, that spark. So, I compiled all of my quotes into one book. I was so excited because I talked to my mentor at the time, Muti Emily, about this book for the longest, and she told me the best way to do it was through Amazon. Thanks, Muti. I now have an interactive journal that was self-published by me. My book is called, From My Life Experiences to Daily Quotes, on Amazon. It has experiences that I have gone through and I'm sure that others can relate to. And this was the way that I chose to talk about things that happened to me in my lifetime. It was definitely a SPARK that I'm glad to have had. I feel that I did contribute my experiences so others know my story and find their story within. At this age, I'm more confident in speaking now than ever before.
