A Scary Night

I was fourteen years old that night. Normally, I never stayed home alone, but that day my family had gone to visit our relatives, and I was left home by myself. I watched horror movies on my phone until midnight — films like The Nun, It, and others just as terrifying. Everything was going fine… until that incident happened. After the movies, I decided to go to sleep and turned off all the lights. I had just closed my eyes when I suddenly heard a strange noise from the direction of the door: — Knock… — Knock… — Knock… I woke up with a jolt, and my heart started pounding. Two thoughts swirled in my mind: one said, "Go open the door," while the other said, "Stay in bed and ignore it." I didn't know what to do, and the sound continued. Then, something inside me urged me to open the door. My hands and feet trembling, I walked toward it. Finally, I gathered the courage and opened the door… Imagine this: I'm home alone, it's the middle of the night, there's a strange knocking sound at the door, and I've been watching horror films for hours. And when I opened the door — can you believe it? — it was just a cat! All that panic, all that fear… for nothing. I laughed at myself. It was my cat, who usually comes to me at night. But because I had been watching such scary movies, I was sure the knocking was a ghost or some evil creature. That night was, without a doubt, the scariest night of my life.
