There are street legends unheard of. There are legends not known waiting to be recognized. You may be that legend waiting to become a legend like Dr. J. His real name is Julius Erving. Dr. J could take a ball out of the air, and he would dunk it. Because of how well he played, people tried to name him all kind of names. The Claw, Black Moses, and Houdini. He said, “…. if they wanted to call me anything, call me Dr.” It is said that people would watch Dr. J play all up on the roof. He drew the greatest crowd in the history of the Rucker pro league. People were up in the trees sitting on branches. It is said that people could not see enough of the game. People would be up on the bridges. Dr. J at Harlem famed Rucker park. That is where the legend of Dr. J started. The young crowd may not know about Dr. J. He could hang in the air a long time and extend his long right arm under the left part of the basket and make the shot. If you're a young player playing basketball listening to my podcast; if you desire to be the greatest in basketball, watch some old films and clips of Dr. J playing basketball. He had moves like no other player, and you'll see how other players may have been inspired by him that you might have heard of. Regarded as one of the greatest and most influential basketball players of all time and the greatest ABA player of all time, Erving helped legitimize the American Basketball Association (ABA) and was the best-known player in that league when it merged into the National Basketball Association (NBA) after the 1975–76 season. Erving won three championships, four Most Valuable Player Awards, and three scoring titles with the ABA's Virginia Squires and New York Nets (now the NBA's Brooklyn Nets) and the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers. He was well known for slam dunking from the free throw line in slam dunk contests. Julius known as Dr. J said, “It's still a kids game and you have to approach it as you did when you were a kid. Some days you wake up and your body hurt. Do what you do best for as long as you can.” Dr. J is one of the greatest basketball player, and you could be next. She was a hardworking, intelligent, and ambitious woman. Since the beginning of the war she could not sleep well because of the sounds of the explosions... She knew very well to what extent had the corruption in her country expanded, but it did not occur to her that the soldiers would shoot their brothers everywhere in this country, and for what?!For keeping a mad, irresponsible, and disgusting man sitting on his chair as a President !!! Everyday the condition was becoming worse and worse, everyday sufferings were becoming more and more. But in spite of everything they ought to survive, they ought to keep living, they ought to defeat the tyranny. There was a big garden round her house, in it there were olive, lemon, and fruit trees. She ought to take care of them very well, every green plant was very important. Her old son had been arrested by the soldiers, she ought to keep her faith, she ought to defeat her sadness, she ought to take care of the rest of the family. Her husband was sick, but he was doing his best to help her with the rest of the family. Among the trees she planted tomatoes, potatoes, aubergine, parsley..etc. For the fertilizer she left a place of about 5×6 square meters to fertilize the earthworms which produce an organic fertilizer during a very short time .She used part of it for her plants, and she sold the other part . In the evenings after finishing her works, she was wondering among the houses of her neighbors, carrying sacks full of her products, to give them to the neighbors, encouraging them, and showing the greatest degree of compassion, responsibility, and generosity. One night, before going to bed she was sitting thinking about everything was happening in her country. She said to herself:what kind of madness is this? How can the condition be bad to this degree? What kind of world we do live in? Everything must have been finished years ago. How is it able for a man- a silly foolish man- to kill and displace most of the nation of this country? What right does he have to do this? Is this country his private farm? Did he inherit it from his father? And who is he ,and who was his father? They are just two assassins. They had always ruled this country by iron and fire .They had been thieves, murderers, and rascals. Everything is happening in front of the sight of the whole world, this plotter world, who kept silent at the sight of the killing of the neighboring President without feeling any shame, although there is no possibility of comparing between them, and after that, this neighboring country was left completely to death. All of that had happened in front of, and with the blessing of this unjust world. Death is everywhere, unfairness is everywhere, oppression is everywhere, and it seems that what is happening is not enough,so they are talking about a world which will be ruled by an elite !!! Who is this elite? And where was it up till now? They are the cause of every evil on earth. They support the death of 7/8 of the inhabitants of this planet !!! How can people be so foolish, so selfish, and so arrogant? Every member of this mean elite is the product of a sexual relationship between a man and a woman, and he is always in need for water and food, and he is always carrying feces in his abdomen, and death and being the food of the worms are his certain end, and what an end is !!! How can a person think that he is better than the others, and he deserves life more than them?HOW?!!! People differ from each other ,exactly like metals do, there is gold, silver, iron, copper...etc, but every one is very important for our lives. At last she stopped thinking and went to her bed. In her dream she saw herself ruling her country, and the first thing she did, was getting her country out of The United Nations, and getting rid of its and The Security Council's tyranny and oppression .They allowed the assassin of her country to keep ruling, to keep killing, and to keep displacing her nation by The Security Council's silly (VITO) which was always used according to only the benefit of the user, and there is a big difference between benefit and justice. Whereas The United Nations, was from the beginning the cover of every oppression. After that the other countries did what she had done, and every country lived happily without the interfering of the other countries, and every ruler became very desirable to only what is good for his nation. When she woke up in the morning, she remembered her dream and said ALAS ! It was just a dream. But deeply in her heart, she felt that if a Third World War will happen, it will absolutely begin from her country.
Man I'll tell you, you have to be open to exploring new ways to do things, or you'll be stuck in a rut! I'm looking forward to having new adventures when the weather clears, riding my bicycle. But for now I'll still be walking. I have seen others riding their bikes. Yesterday as I was walking I saw a volleyball being used as a basketball. I didn't even think about getting a photo of that! I have been stuck in a rut myself with my tags I use, because I hadn't discovered how to add other appropriate tags. Oh, I've used one or two others somewhat by accident, without really understanding how I got to them: I now believe I'll be able to find others to use at will! How, some of my readers may wonder? I discovered this morning that by entering a single letter multiple tags appear to select from. By exploring different letter entries I'll discover more tags I can use. My wife is learning new ways to teach her students and to interact with them online. I'm learning new ways to use my cellphone camera and the necessity of managing my photos so that I can find them later without having to search through more than 20,000 photos! The photo I've chosen only took seconds to find, even though I took it months ago and have taken thousands since! What new ways have you either chosen or been forced to learn?
In my life as a young 17 year old female life I like to have an active part in my community and in school. I enjoy asserting myself into new clubs and sports. I also would take part in small community service acts around my city and school. I am currently in my junior year of high school. I participate in girls varsity basketball for three years now and also been the captain for my team since my freshman year. Leadership is a subject I don't take lightly. Leading others as long as myself to their best as always been a passion of mine. I have been told by many that I excel in taking responsibility in many group activities. And in conclusion I have many of my team mates look up to me in a mentoring way. I take great pride in being a leader and setting for the young minds in my community. Not only am I an athlete I campaigned and ran for student government my junior year. I am now the Junior Class Secretary. Student Government is something I definitely enjoy being apart of and will consider running next year as senior for president of vice president. Another club I take part of is TSA (Technology Student Association) where we compete in in state and national conferences against high-schools all over Florida. This past state conference of the 2018-2019 year my school placed 2nd overall in the state and will be traveling to Washington D.C. for nationals to compete against teams all around the nation. TSA is a great program to be apart of not only did I make incredible new friends I learned so much more about STEM careers. I am now in my second year TSA and will be looking forward to my third and final year and will make nothing but the most of it. This summer I received a letter form my school inviting me to participate in "Peer Mentor ship". A hand full a students were selected after submitting 3 letters recommendation. I am nothing but grateful for taking part in this program. First day of school as a mentor we each took a group of freshman under our wing and helped them navigate through the halls high school for their first time. We also help out in school wide events like "career day", in which I escorted Police Officers around all day, and I loved the experience. Now everything has not always been easy and fun for me. My freshman year I tore my meniscus in my first basketball game which, put me out for the rest of the season. But, with plenty of help and having growth mindset I rehabilitated quickly and came back my sophomore year. Not to long into my sophomore year of basketball I took a nasty fall in a game and tore my ACL in my same knee. Many people told me i should just focus on academics at this point but I wasn't letting this stop me from doing what I love. Finally my junior year I came back stronger than ever ready to be who I was again a shining athlete ! But misfortune soon struck when were at the edge of winning our district championship I tore my ACL and meniscus in the opposite knee. I was devastated. This will not stop me from being the great player I am. Senior year is my year and I have nothing to lose. Some may say I am crazy but with the flow of interest letters of colleges flowing in is of my many motivators to keep going. This just shows I never give up, if I want then I go for it and stop at nothing till I get it.
