never give up nothing is imossible

Juba, South Sudan

am Rebecca Baranya Elia, was born in Sudan and grow in an Islamic background, during my primary i was one of the top students in class everything was easy I have never tasted how failure is, I finished my primary education end joined secondary school where we were coming from different schools and different backgrounds but I still continued being a successful girl.

time ran and there was a political change in the country where the South Part of the country (South Sudan) decided to separate and become an independent country, so my family decided to move from the North to the South, things changed, Environment changed, my family faced a lot of challenges specially financially, where things became hard because my father was working with the government and his income was low, so I continued my secondary school in Juba the capital city of South Sudan and all was well I was still continuing being the among the top students because most of the students in Juba didn't know Arabic.

I finished my secondary school and got excellent results and was happily and eagerly waiting to join campus. but unfortunately my father never had the money for me to join the university. so I was crying everyday at home whenever I see my dad and start complaining but he can't do anything about it, one year passed and am still at home, but after time God provided for my father and he asked which course did I want to do I said either law or any business course, and I told him i wish to continue studying in Arabic but he was silent,

the time came and my father said prepare yourself we will be going to Uganda next week, I was so excited not knowing that I was going to face a lot of Challenges, so the time came and we traveled, my father applied for me in certain University and I was admitted to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Management. but the University's policy is every international students is to do a Foundation course (pre-year) before joining first yea, so I started and met new friends from different countries and most of us had a poor English background, but that class was easy and no challenges.

so time ran very fast and I finished the two semesters of pre-year and joined first year. on the first day I attended the Economics class, things were like fire everything sounds new the lecturers does not mind of those who have poor English. the day ended and I went back to my room started crying bitterly and called my father: and I said dad everything is hard, i can not understand English i can not make it I know am going to fail. my dad told just study and work hard and never give up then dropped the call. so I cried until I was tired, and it became a daily routine. time for exams came and all was tough, i finished exams and went back to Juba for holidays, then told my father no matter what happens am not going back to that University again and he kept quiet, I finished my holidays and results came out surprisingly I have passed that passing has motivated me so much so I came back to school and started attending discussions and struggling so much no matter how tough it was I never gave up.

time passed and I reached third year and sat for my final exams and was so scared waiting for my final results, because i never wanted my colleagues to graduate and leave me behind, when the results came out, when I saw my name on the list and saw that i really made it to the graduation, I shed tears and thanked God so much for what he has done in my life. as am writing this bio am a Finance and Administration Assistant with a local NGO living happily and blessed.
