My Quarantine

Jul 27, 2020 3 years ago

I was told that I should write about my quarantine. So here I go, I am only 14 so I can not really drive anywhere by myself. When quarantine first started I thought that it was so cool! I get so much time off of school! When I first started this quarantine I was over the moon. The first few weeks consisted of finishing up school, I did a lot of Latin and also a lot of trivium. I hated math as every 14 year old would. And then school ended and I had a lot of time on my hands. I started doing Chloe Ting workouts and made a lot of whipped coffee. I also had a lot of yogurt which is one of my favorite foods. This is also the summer before my Freshman year so I spent time stressing over that too. I went back to school shopping and I even went to an event to meet some new freshmen. I went to the beach. I went with my best friend of 4 years. We had a lot of Dairy Queen there and we also had to put on a lot of sunscreen. I did Tiktok dances with my twin sister and watched Jane the Virgin. I started on the show and got hooked on it. I did an algebra one course over the summer and finished with a 92%. Something embarrassing that I did was an accidental trip and my phone fell into the sink. The charger didn't work for a few days but eventually it regained its power. I had an editing account on Instagram and I did some editing too. I enjoyed lots of Jello and even an Ice cream cake for my birthday. I went on lots of bike rides with my family. I redecorated my room and signed lots of petitions. I read a book called “That's not what happened”. It made me open my eyes to all the troubles that America has. One particular victim was stuck in my head. Her name was Alyssa Alhadeff. She was once a bright hopeful freshman just like me. I decided to start trying to advocate for anti-gun laws. I wrote an essay about my middle school years and all my friends that I had made. I started watching a lot of new shows and went to Barnes and Noble for some new books. I celebrated my older sister's birthday. She is 14 months older than me but she feels like a triplet to me. We bonded even more and went to the pool a lot. She is going into her sophomore year at the same school I am going into my freshman year at. I decided to try new things which is why I am doing this right now. Some other new things I wanted to try out were surfing, field hockey, softball, and making bracelets. I made smoothies and I also made pasta. I played with my three very cute dogs. However one day we accidentally left the door open too long and they ran away. They ran all around the neighborhood and then got bored and laid down on someone's lawn. I took a lot of pictures with my siblings and my mom posted a lot of them to Facebook. I took a lot of Snapchat quizzes. I went through my old Snapchat's from 6th grade too. I looked into new backpacks and found a really cute one from the brand Himawari. I also found out that someone who used to be close to me could have Corona Virus. I also had a family member have to have surgery which meant she was more exposed than the rest. I am very thankful that no one I know has been diagnosed or passed from it. Also the death of Naya Rivera who was not a friend but she was an inspiration to me. I started watching Glee a little while ago and she was one of the openly gay character and she made lots of people okay with their sexuality. She made people that grew up in toxic households know that it was okay to be gay. I could not imagine the pain that people that lost their children or grandmothers or anyone that is close to them. That is why I wear a mask everywhere that I go. I don't want to expose anyone to the virus when there is a very good way to prevent it. I went shopping and bought some new clothes because I decided that I needed a new style. I got shorts and cool shirts. One of them was a Dunder Mifflin shirt that I noticed right away. I got a shirt with a lot of bees on it and it said something about organic honey on it. I know that my quarantine may seem very boring to you but I consider myself lucky to have these privileges. I hope you enjoyed my essay and I also hope that you consider voting for me. Thank you and The end!
