Books

Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything. When was the last time you sat, in the comfort of a big armchair, with a steaming mug of hot cocoa with little marshmallows bobbing around in it and a story? When was the last time you allowed every part of yourself to be consumed by the words on a page. As George R.R Martin put it, "A reader lives thousands of lives before he dies... The man who never reads lives only one." Words on a page. Who would have thought that you could create a whole new reality with a few sentences and an idea? To read is to travel, to travel to far away places like Neverland and Hogwarts, to discover the magic we never knew we had in us. To find ourselves, our true selves through the safety of writing. I love when I am able to read a book and find a character who is just like me. I read one just recently, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. There was a character named Cath who was so like me that I was unsure if I was not reading about myself. It helps us relate their stories and in turn, our stories. After all, life is a story, and there are thousands of pages we have yet to read.
