An Intense Yearning

'Tis human nature to appreciate a thing in its absence, To long for somebody no longer part of this world. We pine and fade, weep and bemoan what we've lost. Spend countless hours and untold energy in vain. I would rather the memories embrace, reignite the past. Not for me tears of despair or abject, throttling misery! Golden moments I bathe in, anoint my soul with, Impossibly priceless mementoes enrich my heart. Intense gratitude for days of love granted me, Eternal bliss at those transient forever moments. Shall I share a secret with you, my friend? An intense yearning for what was can never be As potent as a prayer of thanks for the boon that is. Image: Manish Tulaskar (www.unsplash.com)
