Elizabeth opened her eyes to the painful sound of the alarm clock ringing. She slowly reached over her sister sleeping next to her slapping the snooze button on the clock. Elizabeth stretched herself across the bed accidentally knocking Isabellem out of bed, she quickly pulled her arms back beside her with a childish grin on her face as her sister jumped up fussing at her. "Elizabeth you greedy bed hog, I told you to stay on your side!" Elizabeth giggled and replied "oops! Must have slipped." Isabellem complained to her "Whatever I'm sleeping on the couch next time!" she said stomping out of the room. Elizabeth laid there yawning at the ceiling, then slowly crawled out of bed stumbling out into the kitchen. She smiled at her sister and said, “Good morning misses grumpy how was your trip to the floor?" She giggled as Isabellem smirked at her and replied "Oh ha, ha very funny, do you want breakfast or not?" Elizabeth nodded and replied "Duh floor girl you know I'm starving" Isabellem looked back at her as she pulled the eggs from the fridge, "Will you cut it out it's not funny anymore?" Elizabeth smiled and replied "Fine, I'm sorry by the way I was only stretching!" Isabellem ignored her cracking a few eggs, stirring them together in a bowl. Elizabeth asked "Oh come on it was and accident I swear, and what are you doing you know I hate scrambled eggs.” Isabellem sighed replying, "Oh, well I guess you can just throw them on the floor" Elizabeth rolled her eyes and said, "Whatever just hurry up, I don't wanna be late, you know I have to get to Sam's house before her parents leave or they won't let her stay!" Isabellem poured the eggs into the skillet, scrambling the eggs quickly then serving them to Elizabeth. She scoffed down her eggs before jumping up to hug Isabellem "Bye Bellem, I love you!” Isabellem smiled replying, "I love you too Eliza, have a good time!" As Elizabeth rushed to her friends. Isabellem started washing dishes when she heard her fathers bedroom door open and her father walk out. She looked back at him, "Good morning daddy.” He walked up to her looking at the stove and the dishes "Where's mine at?" As his thick southern accent cut the air like a knife, she quickly frowned and replied, "Oh, I uh only made enough for Eliza.” He nodded his head as he turned around, she looked at him with fear in her eyes, "Sorry dad…” but was cut off as he spun around meeting her cheek with the back of his hand sending her to the ground. He stood over her yelling at her, "I thought I told you, when you get up you cook my breakfast first you little bitch!” She burst into tears holding her cheek, ”I'm so…sorry daddy, we only had enough eggs left for one person.” He picked her up, yelling in her face, "Then you cook for me you good for nothing..." she fell to the floor with tears running down her face, "Yes sir.” He crossed his arms, "Don't yes sir me, don't even talk, just go to your room and don't you fucking come out!" She stumbled out of the kitchen into her room, collapsing on the bed as she sobbed, mumbling "I ha…hate it here." As Elizabeth was walking home the next day she stumbled upon her home completely engulfed in flames. She fell to her knees, her face white as a ghost. An officer walked up to her reaching husband out to her, “Excuse me darling, do you live here?” She placed her hand in his looking up at him nodding slowly as a tear rolled down her face. He slowly helped her up, “Do you have anyone to contact that can come to pick you up?” She shook her head gently replaying, “I have no one now…”
