It’s A Mountain, Not a Molehill

Nov 27, 2017 6 years ago

You— shouldn't matter You are the drop of water in the vast ocean— That morphs into a bank of nothingness You are an artery of cruelty of death You have blood of anger, & evil, You are a force of pain & antipathy You have no purpose; yet you still remain 50 years ago King pointed to the top of the mountain and we charged onward; but you stood strong a roadblock in our progress You divide just to divide You separate for the purpose of separation You decide who is better- Who is more worthy But you have no authority to do so You have no jurisdiction—but you choose you do so anyway They say you are poisoning our society They say you hurt. But you're hidden; hidden behind words sprawled across buildings and closed caskets- a bigotry of tolerance You belong beneath the thick, heavy, sediments of life But you; for whatever reason, linger above all You are present everywhere; At home. At work. At play. In institutions where malleable brained individuals are taught you are to be condemned; that you are evil— You hover. your presence a never ending blanket of repression suffocating those battling to breathe They speak of this mess This wildly confusing, unamusing mess But you see: This mess is you.
